JOB SUMMARY
The Senior Director, B2B Marketing – US & Canada is the senior enterprise leader
responsible for owning, directing, and executing Marriott Bonvoy’s Business to
Business (B2B) marketing strategy across all hotels in the United States and
Canada. This role sets direction, establishes goals, end-to-end strategy
development, execution oversight, budget ownership, and performance measurement,
while expanding the remit to include enterprise leadership, Convention & Resort
Network (CRN portfolio ownership, and innovation at scale. The Senior Director
ensures B2B marketing enables Sales teams to drive profitable group, meetings,
intermediary, consortia, travel agent, and business transient demand across the
entire US & Canada system.
In this position, the Senior Director sets the B2B portfolio messaging strategy
and activation approach, oversees integrated program delivery across paid,
owned, earned, digital, direct, experiential, and field-enabled channels, and
partners with Analytics and Finance to define, track, and optimize performance
outcomes. As a key member of the US & Canada Continent Marketing leadership
team, the Senior Director serves as the senior B2B marketing stakeholder for
Sales, Brand, Digital, Distribution, and Global Marketing partners and
represents B2B marketing in senior stakeholder forums and leadership
engagements.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Education and Experience
· Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Marketing,
Business, or a related field.
OR
· 12+ years of progressive experience in B2B marketing, demand generation, or
sales-enabled marketing, demonstrating enterprise-scale strategy development,
integrated execution leadership, and a track record of measurable business
impact.
Preferred:
* MBA or advanced degree.
* Experience in hospitality, travel, or services-based industries.
* Experience supporting group, meetings, and intermediary-driven business
models.
* Demonstrated experience leading enterprise-scale marketing strategy and
execution in a complex, matrixed organization, with strong executive presence
and the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
* Demonstrated ability to deliver results under difficult conditions, particularly when faced with complexity and
ambiguity.
CORE WORK ACTIVITIES
Enterprise B2B Marketing Strategy & Execution
* Owns the development, execution, and optimization of the US & Canada B2B
marketing plan, including objectives, strategies, messaging, channel mix, and
activation calendar.
* Sets and maintains the B2B portfolio messaging strategy and voice, ensuring
consistent pull-through across all B2B customer touchpoints.
* Oversees execution of B2B marketing programs across paid, owned, earned,
digital, direct, experiential, and field-enabled channels; ensures clear
briefs, prioritization, and operational discipline to deliver on business
outcomes.
* Directs the B2B innovation and learning agenda across the portfolio and CRN,
leveraging test-and-learn pilots and scaling successful programs systemwide.
* Serves as the senior B2B marketing stakeholder for Sales, Brand, Digital,
Distribution, and Global Marketing teams; leads cross-discipline
collaboration across Paid Media, Creative & Content, Brand Marketing, and
field teams.
* Partners with Analytics and Finance to define, track, and report performance
metrics (e.g., RFP generation, revenue, profit contribution, awareness and
perception, and digital performance) and to drive continuous optimization.
* Maintains accountability for delivering measurable business outcomes and
optimizing investment effectiveness; establishes governance, prioritization,
and decision frameworks for B2B marketing performance management.
Sales Enablement & Cross-Functional Integration
* Acts as the primary B2B marketing partner to US & Canada Sales leadership,
ensuring marketing directly enables sales priorities across group, meetings,
intermediary, and business transient segments.
* Translates sales needs into actionable marketing strategies, tools, and
programs; provides scalable frameworks, guidance, and enablement resources
for field and regional teams.
* Owns the B2B marketing strategy for the Marriott Bonvoy Convention & Resort
Network (CRN) and ensures alignment to enterprise B2B priorities.
* Champions CRN through strong connectivity with CRN leadership, representation
in key stakeholder forums and conferences, and ongoing guidance and
development of CRN marketing talent.
* Leverages CRN hotels as a test-and-learn environment for B2B marketing
innovation, scaling successful pilots and best practices across the US &
Canada system.
* Directly manages and develops the Director, CRN Marketing, providing clear
strategic direction, coaching, and performance accountability.
* Establishes governance, prioritization, and decision frameworks for B2B
marketing, including annual planning, resource allocation, and performance
management rhythms.
