Technical SEO Lead

The Organic Growth Team is unlocking the vast amount and huge SEO potential of Shutterstock’s portfolio of amazing brands. We are looking for a strategic technical SEO analyst who can combine business acumen, technical and analytical skills with top-notch relationship management skills to meet and deliver on SEO needs across the organization and our portfolio.

Responsibilities:

1. Create an advanced technical SEO audit and monitoring system that is operationalized for 5+ brands:
1. txt optimization and management
2. Crawlability, crawl budget, indexation, XML sitemaps
3. Site structure, architecture, and taxonomy
4. Site performance (page speed, page load time, Core Web Vitals)
5. Internal links and navigation (follow/nofollow, pagination)
6. Meta and structured data (Schema markup, JSON-LD, image alt text)
7. Noindex, canonicals, redirects (and redirect chains)
8. International and multilingual SEO (hreflang attributes)
9. Site migrations
10. Log files (storage and analysis)
11. Google Algorithm updates
12. SEO A/B experimentation and testing

Directly report to the Head of Organic Growth and actively partner with this individual to seamlessly execute a robust content and technical SEO roadmap across 5+ brands.

Partner with Product and Engineering team members to execute on the technical SEO projects of this unified SEO roadmap.

Report on various success metrics related to these projects, including top of funnel metrics and bottom funnel metrics.

Be empowered being the technical SEO authority at our organization, with the ability to report and present both cross-functionally and to upper management.

Tools:

1. Demonstrated experience with the following tools:
1. Technical SEO Tools: Screaming Frog, Lumar (Deepcrawl), Oncrawl, Botify
2. General SEO Tools: Google Search Console, Google Analytics, SEMRush, Ahrefs, Brightedge
3. Data Manipulation Tools: Google Sheets, Microsoft Excel, SQL, Snowflake, BigQuery
4. Data Visualization Tools: Looker, Looker Studio, New Relic, or Tableau (does not have to be all three, can only be one)
5. Web Development: HTML/CSS, JavaScript, and HTTP status codes
6. Project Management: Jira, Trello

Qualifications:

1. 6+ years of SEO experience and 4+ years with technical SEO
2. Experience working with image SEO (not necessarily an image site, could also be an ecommerce site that is optimized for image traffic)
3. Experience working with international and multilingual sites

Pluses:

1. Thought leadership and a data-driven perspective on new SEO trends and advancements in Google SGE and generative AI
2. Experience with manipulating large datasets using SQL and Python

The compensation package offered may vary depending on employment experience, skills, and knowledge. Compensation ranges for candidates in locations outside of the location(s) below may differ based on the cost of labor, market, and additional factors.

The pay range for this position is below:

1. 130,000 - 170,000 per year in New York

Note: Commission-eligible roles are expressed as on-target earnings (base and commission). Non-commission roles are expressed as base salary only but are also eligible for annual incentives.
