The Senior Associate position will support the Portfolio Manager(s) in the fund's valuation process, among other fund responsibilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES : Valuation :

  • Assist portfolio manager(s) by helping to lead the fund's valuation process (both quarterly and daily valuation)
  • Work with Asset Management to coordinate information flow for the appraisal process
  • Interact with the fund's third-party appraisal manager to ensure timely and accurate asset valuations
  • Lead internal valuation benchmarking analytics
  • Collaborate with the portfolio team to communicate valuation updates and topics
  • The above will require understanding of property level and investment level considerations on investments in varying property types. This includes the ability to interact with senior level Asset Managers in order to gain information necessary to update valuation assumptions and report to portfolio managers
  • Lead weekly calls with the portfolio team to walk through current valuations
  • Work with Performance Measurement team ensuring property reporting of valuation metrics

Other :

  • Help establish and maintain fund portfolio models
  • Assist with analyses of property sectors, real estate and economic trends, as well as the preparation of fund presentations
  • Competition Analysis: Quantitative and qualitative compilations of competing fund performance, sector weighting and strategies
  • Process client ad hoc information requests
  • Interface with accounting group on fund and portfolio performance items
  • Compile and maintain fund level data such as debt schedules and joint venture schedules, maintaining primary deal terms of each
  • Assist portfolio manager in coordinating acquisitions activity / communications with clients
  • Assist portfolio manager in fund raising and marketing process
  • Opportunity to be a part of NCREIF, MSCI and other industry group discussions / task forces

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5-8 years of experience in real estate or business related activities
  • High competency in Argus, Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Strong interpersonal communication and writing skills.
  • Must be able to work independently and as part of a team that includes the disciplines of finance, research, acquisitions, asset management and marketing;
  • Ability to meet deadlines and complete projects with minimal supervision.
  • Candidate should be proactive and self-motivated. Strong work ethic, integrity and commitment to meet deadlines are essential candidate attributes.

If based in New York, the base salary range for this position is USD $130,000 - $160,000. Actual base salary offered will be determined by several components including but not limited to the candidate's experience, job-related knowledge, and qualifications. Base salary does not include other forms of compensation or benefits offered in connection with the advertised role. Total compensation may vary based on role, location, and individual performance.
