Company Description
Sia Experience brings together strategy, creativity, technology, and deep industry expertise to help enterprise level tech and innovation companies solve complex business and marketing challenges.
Our Marketing Advisory team works alongside clients on some of their most innovative opportunities, to solve problems that don’t fit neatly into an existing playbook.
Job Description
Sia Experience’s Marketing Advisory team is looking for a seasoned Product Marketing Manager to join our team and support a high-impact engagement with one of the world’s leading technology organizations, working at the forefront of AI research and innovation.
We are looking for a product marketer at the core: someone with deep, end-to-end ownership of positioning, messaging, go-to-market strategy, and launches who is equally comfortable rolling up their sleeves to execute. This role requires a PMM who can set the strategy, develop the narrative, and personally drive the work required to bring highly technical products to market.
Critically, we are looking for experience marketing AI itself as the product. This could include foundation models, large language models (LLMs), multimodal AI, model APIs, or similar AI technologies, rather than products where AI is simply an embedded feature or capability.
This is not traditional product marketing, and there is no established playbook. You’ll work closely alongside teams developing and bringing some of the most advanced emerging AI technologies to market, helping determine how breakthrough AI research, model capabilities, and technical advancements should be positioned, differentiated, and introduced to highly sophisticated audiences.
The work is fast-moving, highly visible, and often ambiguous by nature. You’ll be expected to bring a strong point of view, create clarity where the path forward isn’t obvious, and move fluidly from understanding complex technical developments to shaping the positioning, narrative, competitive strategy, launch, and execution around them.
We are particularly interested in PMMs who have helped build or define a category, where their launches and positioning influenced how the broader market perceived a company as an AI or technology leader.
Our work is hands-on and high-impact. This role is for product marketing professionals who want to be close to the technology, close to the decisions, and close to what happens next.
Location: Bay Area, CA. This role requires regular in-person collaboration with client teams in the Menlo Park area.
What You’ll Do
As a member of the Sia Experience Marketing Advisory team, you’ll be embedded within a leading technology client, working directly alongside research, product, engineering, marketing, communications, design, and cross-functional teams to shape and execute go-to-market strategy for frontier AI innovations.
You will:
Own end-to-end product marketing for frontier AI products and innovations, from positioning and messaging through GTM strategy, launch planning, and hands-on execution.
Develop differentiated positioning and narratives for AI models, LLMs, multimodal capabilities, model APIs, and other emerging AI technologies.
Translate complex model capabilities into compelling narratives for highly technical audiences, including developers, researchers, ML practitioners, engineers, and the broader AI ecosystem.
Partner directly with research and engineering teams to understand evolving model capabilities, technical tradeoffs, evaluations, benchmarks, and advancements while they are still being developed.
Use signals around model capabilities, benchmarks, evaluations, competitive performance, and emerging research to identify meaningful technical differentiation and define competitive positioning.
Shape launch strategies that go beyond individual product releases, helping establish broader market perception, category leadership, and the organization’s position within the AI ecosystem.
Develop a sophisticated understanding of the AI and model landscape, including emerging research directions, model releases, capabilities, developer adoption, competitive developments, and broader industry dynamics.
Own complex GTM workstreams from strategy through execution, bringing structure and momentum to high-profile initiatives where the path forward may still be taking shape.
Bring an independent point of view. You’ll be expected not only to synthesize information, but to evaluate it, challenge assumptions, identify opportunities, and recommend how emerging technologies should show up in the market.
Lead across functions without relying on formal authority, aligning stakeholders across research, product, engineering, design, communications, creative, and marketing around shared launch strategies and outcomes.
Operate effectively at speed, balancing strategic thinking with hands-on execution as priorities, information, and market conditions evolve.
This job description is not intended to be all inclusive. Duties, responsibilities, and qualifications may be added, deleted, or modified at any time based on business needs.
Qualifications
We’re looking for an experienced product marketer who combines deep PMM expertise with strong technical fluency and exceptional strategic judgment.
10+ years of experience with a significant portion of that career spent in Product Marketing, including direct ownership of positioning, messaging, go-to-market strategy, and product launches.
Demonstrated experience owning end-to-end PMM strategy and execution, rather than serving primarily in an adjacent product strategy, program management, communications, or general marketing capacity.
Direct experience marketing AI as the product, ideally including foundation models, LLMs, multimodal AI, model APIs, AI platforms, or closely related model-level technologies.
Demonstrated experience developing and executing go-to-market strategies for highly technical, emerging, or category-defining products.
Experience helping build or define a category, with launches, narratives, or positioning that contributed to broader market perception of a company as an AI or technology leader.
Deep experience developing positioning and messaging for technical audiences, particularly developers, researchers, ML practitioners, engineers, technical decision-makers, and members of the broader AI ecosystem.
Ability to understand and interpret model capabilities, benchmarks, evaluations, competitive signals, and technical advancements and use those insights to define meaningful differentiation and competitive positioning.
Experience partnering closely with research, engineering, product, or other deeply technical teams, with the ability to quickly build credibility and communicate effectively with technical experts.
A track record of independently leading complex, cross-functional GTM initiatives from early strategy through launch and execution.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to synthesize technical complexity, develop compelling narratives, and influence senior stakeholders.
Strong program leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple interconnected workstreams in a rapidly changing environment.
Comfortable operating as both a strategic leader and hands-on executor, moving from high-level positioning and GTM decisions into the details required to successfully bring a product to market.
You’ll Thrive Here If You…
You are a product marketer first. Positioning, messaging, GTM strategy, and launches are your craft, and you enjoy owning them from initial strategy through execution.
You’re intellectually curious and genuinely excited by what is happening at the frontier of AI and technology. You want to understand why one model or capability is technically different from another, what benchmarks and evaluations signal, and how those differences should translate into positioning.
You know how to market to audiences that are highly informed and technically sophisticated. You can develop narratives that stand up to scrutiny from developers, researchers, and ML practitioners rather than relying on broad marketing language.
You’ve operated in moments where the category itself was still being defined. You understand how the right positioning and launch can influence not only adoption of a product, but how the broader market perceives a company’s leadership in AI.
You’re comfortable entering a situation where the answer is not already known. Rather than waiting for a playbook, you ask the right questions, develop a perspective, and help create one.
You can move easily between strategy and execution. You’re equally comfortable evaluating a competitive landscape, debating positioning with senior stakeholders, digging into model capabilities with researchers and engineers, analyzing benchmarks, writing messaging, and driving the many moving pieces required to bring something successfully to market.
You’re highly collaborative but independently driven. You know when to bring people together, when to push for clarity, and when to simply take ownership and move.
Most importantly, you enjoy environments where the technology, competitive landscape, and priorities are evolving quickly. Pace and ambiguity sharpen your thinking rather than slowing you down.
