Marketing Manager

The Marketing Manager develops marketing strategy and go-to-market plans. This position plays a key role in demand and revenue generation by developing audience-focused strategies, optimizing campaign performance, and partnering with key internal and external stakeholders. The Manager manages omni-channel media buying; develops ticket pricing strategy; maintains vendor relationships; and functions as key liaison, managing institutional relationships with multiple guest artists and their management teams.
This role leads marketing and pricing strategy, and audience segmentation, to ensure every program reaches the right audiences and generates planned revenue.
II. Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Develop and manage advertising, media and pricing strategies for performances and institutional initiatives.
Plan and execute multi-channel paid media campaigns, including digital display, paid social, paid search, video, streaming video and audio, print, radio, outdoor, and broadcast.
Use CRM insights, historical sales data, and audience research tools, such as Placer.ai, to inform audience segmentation and targeting strategies and media mix recommendations.
Coordinate trafficking and ensure timely and accurate delivery of creative assets to media partners and platforms.
Collaborate with Artistic Programming and Marketing staff to understand artistic and audience objectives and translate them into effective advertising plans.
Monitor campaign pacing, budgets, and performance; ticket sales; and audience growth against department and organization goals; and adjust tactics to maximize ROI and revenue outcomes.
Partner with the CRM team to evaluate campaign effectiveness and produce post-campaign reporting with actionable insights.
Manage relationships with marketing agencies and advertising partners; negotiate pricing, added value, and performance expectations.
Maintain seasonal advertising calendars, timelines, and budget tracking tools.
Work with Communications team to align paid and organic strategies for programs.
Provide timely advertising expenditure summaries to the Artistic Programming team for distribution to external partners following performances.
Develop audience acquisition strategies for local, regional and tourism marketing, including special events and high-profile programming.
Develop and maintain institutional marketing campaigns to drive awareness for the Nashville Symphony and Schermerhorn Symphony Center.
Stay current with evolving marketing, advertising and pricing platforms and technologies, and digital marketing best practices.
Segment audiences and tailor offers to drive conversion, retention, sales, and lifetime value.

1. Education
Bachelorβs degree in marketing, communications, advertising, or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
2. Experience
At least five years of professional experience in advertising, digital marketing, media planning, or related fields.
Experience executing multi-channel advertising campaigns.
Experience in the performing arts, entertainment, or nonprofit sector preferred.
3. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Natural Curiosity and a get-it-done attitude
Strong knowledge of digital advertising platforms including Meta Ads manager, Google Ads, YouTube, Google Analytics, and programmatic display systems.
Experience using audience insight tools, such as Placer.ai.
