The local structural division in Oregon currently consists of over 100 employees working primarily out of our downtown Portland office. We work on a wide variety of project types, serving public and private clients in land development, transportation, and municipal projects. This includes architectural-led building projects for K-12 and higher ed campuses, sports facilities, medical campuses, and mixed-use housing. In addition, we work on parks, trails, pedestrian bridges, road and vehicle infrastructure, and master planning, with a focus on sustainability in everything we do. Job Description
KPFF Consulting Engineers is hiring a full-time Marketing Assistant to join our structural engineering division in Portland, Oregon. This role will be responsible for helping to keep track of project data and assisting in content to support the firm's ongoing qualification requests and internal marketing initiatives. You will thrive in this job if you find joy in working with a close-knit team, understand the need for ongoing prioritization, appreciate both autonomy and constructive feedback, and want to develop meaningful creative work that supports the built environment. This is NOT a good fit if you need a lot of defined processes, prefer siloed work environments, or have difficulty managing multiple concurrent deadlines. This position provides marketing support and services to engineers whose clients are architects, developers, contractors, and public agencies. Our marketing staff are valued and empowered to be innovative in their approach and passionate about their work. How we treat one another is as important as the work we do. This is an in-person position that interacts with all levels of the firm, as well as clients and subconsultants.
Responsibilities:
Assist in preparation of subconsultant qualifications and proposal submissions, through the development of materials such as resumes, biographies and profiles, project descriptions, and other collateral materials
Help maintain the marketing database by inputting and updating client, project, and other supporting information; maintain content library, including previous proposals, boilerplates, and visuals
Monitor and report industry-related information including online publications, magazines, and blogs
Track publications and lead generation platforms; assist in the generation of internal newsletters
Pull project reports and update staff and internal resource information
Help create various internal communications and company announcements
Edit/update marketing collateral such as presentations and brochures
Assist with internal document processing including reviewing, editing, and formatting documents or other client deliverables
Interact with and facilitate communications with staff and vendors
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while working on a computer, reviewing plans, or conducting site visits.
Capacity to move around project sites, climb ladders, and navigate uneven terrain.
Occasionally lifting up to 15 pounds of equipment or materials.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in English, Marketing, Journalism, Communication, Education, Business or other relevant major OR a related combination of education and experience
1-3 years of professional or internship experience, preferably in marketing or related field
Experience in data entry or database management
Experience with Microsoft (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign and Illustrator) programs
Strong organizational skills, with an ability to multitask and manage time effectively
Strong writing, proofreading, copy-editing, formatting, and other document revision skills
Exceptional attention to detail
Excellent communication skills and a desire to learn
Ability to work under tight deadlines and handle multiple assignments concurrently

Compensation
Base pay range of $28.00 - $30.00/per hour, based on qualifications and prior experience
Overtime paid at time-and-a-half with regular opportunity for overtime available
