Job Description

Position: Marketing Assistant

Department: Marketing

Reports to: Director of Marketing

SUMMARY AND DETAILS OF POSITION

The Marketing Assistant provides vital support to the marketing department by assisting with various administrative tasks, content creation, and marketing campaigns. This role collaborates closely with the Marketing Project Manager and external vendors to ensure the smooth execution of marketing initiatives across various platforms. The ideal candidate will be organized, creative, and have a keen eye for emerging trends in social media, digital marketing, and market research.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assists the marketing department with administrative tasks.
  • Assists in ideation and creation of marketing content and campaigns.
  • Aids Marketing Project Manager in working with vendors including but not limited to graphic design, copywriting, web, print, editing, and swag.
  • Works with Marketing Project Manager to monitor social media metrics and manage social media vendor.
  • Studies website and social media metrics and provides input on trends.
  • Conducts market research and competitive intelligence.
  • Monitors active marketing campaigns and makes suggestions as needed.
  • Collaborates with other departments as needed.

Required Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED certificate.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud (Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere) is a plus.
  • Digital photography and video editing experience is a plus.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • High level of organization and attention to detail.
  • Comfort with multitasking in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Understanding of basic business and marketing concepts.
  • Outgoing personality with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to spot emerging trends.
  • Familiarity with social media, social networking, email marketing, and search engines.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong writing and editing abilities.

This role is a part-time job working approximately 20 hours per week.
