We offer students the opportunity to spend a summer working at one of Securitas’
US Operating Centers. This internship program offers undergraduate students with
real-world application of business within the North America Shared Services
organization. You will participate in an 11-week internship located in
Parsippany, New Jersey for 32-40 hours per week and working a hybrid schedule.
As an IT Communications Intern, you will collaborate with the IT team in
crafting and executing communication strategies that bridge the gap between
technical teams and non-technical stakeholders. You’ll support internal
communication efforts, assist with ongoing projects, and keep departments
informed about IT projects, updates, and initiatives. This role will also
introduce you to AI‑assisted communication workflows—such as drafting,
summarizing, organizing, and refining content—to help improve efficiency,
consistency, and reach while maintaining accuracy and clarity.
Successful completion of the internship program could lead to a return
internship for the following summer or employment at the organization in the
future.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Assist in creating clear, concise, and engaging communication materials such
as emails, intranet updates, and presentation slide decks
• Support the preparation and delivery of IT communications to employees across
the organization
• Help coordinate IT announcements, system updates, and maintenance schedules
• Contribute to content creation for internal knowledge base and documentation
• Monitor and respond to internal IT inquiries or feedback regarding
communication materials
• Collaborate with other teams to gather information and ensure
cross-departmental alignment on IT initiatives
• Assist in organizing virtual meetings, webinars, or workshops related to IT
training or updates
• Provide administrative support to the IT communications team as needed
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AT ENTRY:
Additional qualifications may be specified and receive preference, depending
upon the nature of the position.
Education/Experience:
• High school diploma or GED
• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in communications,
information technology, marketing, or a related field
• Interest and ability to learn and apply AI and digital tools to enhance
productivity, communication quality, and collaboration
Competencies (as demonstrated through experience, training, and/or testing):
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
Familiarity with Microsoft 365 Teams is a plus
• Attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work with diverse
teams
• Creative and proactive with a willingness to learn and take on new challenges
