Position Summary
The Employee Communications Specialist leads the development and execution of strategic internal communication programs that inform, engage, and inspire employees. This role is responsible for shaping the employee experience through clear, consistent, and compelling messaging across multiple channels. The Employee Communications Specialist also analyzes communication effectiveness, recommends improvements, and supports change management efforts.
We are seeking a Employee Communications Specialist to work closely with HR, leadership, and cross-functional partners, to ensure that employees understand company goals, cultural priorities, organizational changes, and key initiatives. This position plays a key role in supporting effective internal communications, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, operational excellence, and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
Creates communication strategies that support business priorities, organizational changes, and cultural initiatives while ensuring consistent alignment to company messaging
Writes and edits messages, intranet articles, newsletters, FAQs, talking points, and presentations that translate complex topics into clear, engaging narratives
Serves as a trusted advisor to leadership, HR, and business units by providing communication guidance, coaching, and support for key initiatives and announcements
Oversees intranet updates, email campaigns, digital signage, and other employee-facing platforms to ensure timely, accurate, and user-friendly communication experiences
Plans and delivers communication strategies for company-wide changes such as reorganizations, technology rollouts, culture programs, and business transformations
Tracks performance metrics, gathers employee feedback, analyzes audience engagement, and uses insights to refine communication strategies and channels
Supports planning, messaging, and logistics for town halls, all-hands meetings, and other company events that reinforce leadership visibility and employee connection
Qualifications
Education: Bachelorβs degree in human resources, communication, business administration, or related discipline (Required)
Licensure/Certification: None
Experience: 4+ years of experience in an employee communications role.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Knowledge of communication best practices related to organizational change; how to communicate sensitive or complex topics with discretion; and communication performance metrics, engagement analytics, and basic qualitative feedback methods (Required)
Knowledge of employee engagement frameworks, culture development, and behavioral insights; formal change methodologies; and corporate brand standards (Preferred)
Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills (Required)
Strong project management, organizational, and time management skills (Required)
Strong measurement and analytical skills (Required)
Transformation and change management skills (Preferred)
Ability to translate business priorities into employee-friendly narratives (Required)
Ability to plan and execute multichannel campaigns (Required)
Ability to influence employees at all levels (Required)
Ability to navigate sensitive topics with discretion and professionalism (Required)
Ability to develop communication plans for organizational changes like M&A, restructuring, and system launches (Preferred)
Ability to identify communication risks and offer strategic mitigation (Preferred)
Work Environment
Location: Hybrid/Remote
Schedule: 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. Monday through Friday with night and weekend hours on occasion as determined by the needs of the business and cross-facility travel as needed.
Regular meetings with internal Human Resources, Marketing, Compliance, Quality, Training, and Operations Management teams. This role may also have meetings with external vendor and consultant partner representatives
Key Essential Functions
Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods while writing or reviewing documentation
Must be able to work on a computer for the entire shift
Must be able to attend virtual meetings with cross-functional teams
