About Margaux
Margaux is a new kind of footwear brand rooted in friendship, collaboration, and community. Co-founders Sarah Pierson and Alexa Buckley launched Margaux in 2015, setting out to create a modern footwear wardrobe for women on the go, powered by thoughtful design and an innovative approach. What started as a handful of silhouettes has grown into a full collection, complete with beautiful, comfortable styles for everywhere life takes you. Each pair is designed in New York and handmade in Spain, and thoughtfully crafted to withstand the test of time.
Position Overview
The Director of Communications owns how Margaux is seen, written about, and recommended, across press, VIPs, and elsewhere. This person will set earned-media strategy in the U.S. and lead it day to day. They run the press calendar, pitch features and shopping stories, oversee gifting and VIP relationships, and make sure the brand appears where women now discover products. This person works closely with digital marketing, creative and product so every launch, collaboration and collection has a clear story behind it. Additionally, you will work closely with leadership on crafting high-level business and founder stories, helping to position the brand on every level.

Work with paid marketing to oversee affiliate and commerce-editor relationships, and track which placements drive traffic and sales.
Run organic VIP relations: building real relationships with people whose taste shapes culture, and dressing them where it fits.
Set the organic gifting strategy across editors, stylists, VIPs and tastemakers, with clear budgets and tracking.
Partner with marketing on influencer and creator programs so earned and paid efforts work as one.
Plan and run press days, previews and other brand events, from production to the guest list and invitations to the recap.
Work with marketing to coordinate paid media and partnership opportunities with publishers.
Report on coverage, share of voice, reach and sales impact each month, and use it to sharpen the plan.
Serve as a sounding board and counsel for any or all internal or external messaging strategies for the company and leadership.

A record of top-tier placements, from features to market pages, that you can point to by name.
Hands-on experience with shopping and affiliate PR.
A thoughtful approach to VIP relations and gifting: relationships over volume.
A clear, elegant writer who can distill our cofounders’ talking points into a beautiful press release.
Organized and calm under a busy calendar; comfortable with a lean team and a founder-led company.
