Job Details

We are seeking a dynamic, passionate, and experienced Development and Communications Director to join our team. This is a unique opportunity for an individual with a strong background in sales and a proven track record in prospecting, developing and maintaining relationships with private donors, and executing successful marketing strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the development and execution of comprehensive fundraising strategies, including prospecting, cultivating, and securing major gifts from private donors.
  • Develop and implement a robust communications strategy that effectively markets our organization and its mission to a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to our development team, fostering an environment of continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with board members, C-suite executives, and other key stakeholders, ensuring their ongoing engagement and support.
  • Work closely with the leadership team to identify new funding opportunities and develop strategies to capitalize on them.
  • Oversee the creation and implementation of the development plan, ensuring that all activities align with our organization's strategic goals.
  • Monitor and report on development activities and performance, providing insights and recommendations to the leadership team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a development role within marketing and development in a non-profit, with a proven track record of success in securing major gifts from private donors.
  • Strong leadership skills, with experience managing a high-performing team.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and inspire a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing effective marketing and communication strategies.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships with the board of directors and C-suite executives.
  • Proficient in the use of CRM systems and other fundraising tools.
  • Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
