VectorUSA is looking for a Communications Foreman, this is an opportunity to join the expanding installation team of a well-established, growing technology company. We are looking for a motivated individual with 4-6 years’ experience that possess in-depth knowledge of all of the technical disciplines required to successfully complete installations consisting of premise low voltage distribution systems. Required knowledge includes the ability to oversee, physically perform, and train people in the tasks associated with installing, maintaining, testing and troubleshooting jobs according to Vector’s standards.

Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
Perform all levels of Telecommunications Technicians positions; outside plant; aerial applications; underground applications; station protection
Safety procedures for all disciplines
Complete knowledge of network topologies including Star, Bus, Ring, 10base 5, 10base T, 802.5 Token Ring, CDDI, FDDI, FOIRL, TPDDI, IBM System 3, Sonnet-Fiber, ISDN
Thorough knowledge of intra-building connectivity for both horizontal and vertical distribution systems
Ability to interpret and understand all scopes of work
Ability to adapt to physical environment and changes in the environment
Ability to engineer and design distribution systems
Must demonstrate job knowledge in low voltage distribution systems sufficiently to ensure customer confidence
Possess the ability and knowledge to interact with MIS managers, corporate executives and business owners on the level of an expert consultant
Coordinate with customers to assure customer knows project status; ensure full knowledge of customers’ desires; to personally ensure customer satisfaction.
Ability to recognize changes in scope of work; communicate changes in scope of work to engineers, account executives and Operations Managers
Communicate changes in scope of work and cost to customers; obtain approval of change orders; obtain signed proposals
Coordinate with Purchasing; ensuring certain required tools and materials are provided
100% accountable for every aspect of his/her work
Takes responsibility for communicating pertinent information regarding the project to design engineers, account executives, and Operations Manager
Being available 24/7 if emergencies arise that are work related
Ability to overcome adversity
Ability to use experience and knowledge to enhance methods and develop creative solutions
Minimum Requirements:
High School diploma or GED
4-6 years’ experience installing infrastructure solutions
Three years of relevant experience in the telecommunications industry preferred
Full knowledge of color codes
Ability to oversee, physically perform, and train people in the tasks associated with installing, maintaining, testing and troubleshooting communications infrastructure.
Complete knowledge of Star, 10base-T, Bus and Ring topologies
Complete knowledge of intra-building connectivity for both horizontal and vertical distribution systems
Ability to adapt physical environment and changes in the environment and engineer a solution
Ability to read Blue Prints and understand Engineered Designs
Excellent communication skills; strong customer service skills
Must be proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
Must be able to pass a post-offer drug screen, physical, background check, and Livescan fingerprint checks
Must have reliable transportation (able to accommodate a 6’ ladder), valid driver’s license, and own tools
Must be able to lift 50 pounds; must be able to bend, stoop, reach, climb
Preferred Requirements:
Industry certifications a plus
2-3 years’ experience terminating fiber strongly preferred
Ability to organize work
Ability to work under pressure
Basic mathematical skills
Possess in-depth knowledge of all of the technical disciplines required of Level 2 and 3 Technicians
Ability to interpret and understand all scopes of work associated with Level 2 and 3 Technicians
Ability to adapt physical environment and changes in the environment and engineer a solution
