Overview
GMI Trading is seeking a Trade Marketing Specialist to drive the in-store visibility and sell-through of our private label and exclusive brand portfolio across our client network — independent stores, retail chains (including NetCost Market) and distributors throughout the United States.
This role sits at the intersection of marketing and sales. The Trade Marketing Specialist works closely with the sales and marketing teams and store-level contacts to develop promotional programs, support in-store execution, and ensure our products are well-represented at the point of sale. Additional collaboration with the purchasing department and select vendors on joint promotional initiatives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
In-Store Visibility & Execution
• Develop and manage POS materials, in-store signage, section branding, and display solutions to maximize product visibility at client locations
• Support placement of additional display equipment — including branded fridges, stands, and fixtures — as part of client development programs
• Conduct periodic field visits to key accounts to audit in-store execution, assess shelf presence, and identify growth opportunities
• Provide remote marketing support to clients across the US where on-site visits are not required
Promotional Programs & Activations
• Plan and execute trade promotions in coordination with the sales team — including promotional mechanics initiated by GMI Trading and communicate to store partners
• Coordinate with stores to ensure promotional offers are reflected at shelf level, in alignment with agreed commercial terms
• Support tastings, product demonstrations, and in-store activations — including managing third-party vendors responsible for on-site execution and photo reporting
• Drive seasonal campaigns, product launches, and thematic activations across the client base
Vendor Co-Marketing
• Identify and develop co-marketing opportunities with brand vendors — including co-funded activations, tastings, and in-store programs
• Negotiate vendor marketing support and translate it into executable programs at the store level
• Manage vendor participation tracking and ensure accountability for agreed initiatives
Sales Enablement & New Account Support
• Develop sales-facing materials: product catalogs, brand presentations, and sell-in decks to support new account acquisition
• Support the sales team with trade marketing assets and account-level collateral for both field and office-based sales
• Help onboard new stores and chains into GMI Trading's product assortment through targeted marketing support
SKU Distribution & Portfolio Growth
• Drive the Top-25 SKU program — tracking distribution, identifying gaps, and working with the sales team to close them
• Monitor product ranging across key accounts and support initiatives to expand private label and exclusive brand presence
• Build and maintain the trade marketing calendar aligned with commercial and category priorities
Trade Shows & Industry Events
• Support preparation and on-site execution for trade shows and industry events — including Fancy Food Show, ECRM, and others
• Develop event materials, booth concepts, and product presentations in collaboration with the marketing team
Performance Tracking & Optimization
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of trade promotions, activations, and in-store programs
• Track SKU distribution, in-store execution quality, and vendor program participation across accounts
• Analyze results and provide actionable recommendations to improve ROI and execution standards
QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field
• 3–5 years of experience in trade marketing, retail marketing, or CPG
• Experience developing and executing in-store marketing programs and trade promotions
• Strong project management skills — able to run multiple initiatives independently and simultaneously
• Comfortable working cross-functionally with sales, marketing, and external partners

• Experience with campaign reporting and marketing analytics
• Familiarity with design tools (Canva, Adobe) is a plus
