The Work
ICF Next is seeking a Social Media Planner to support a high-visibility federal client within the national security space, focused on large-scale recruitment marketing and employer branding initiatives. This is a fully onsite role within a secure government environment requiring close, day-to-day collaboration with client stakeholders. The role supports the planning, coordination, and execution of social media activities across multiple platforms, ensuring alignment with recruitment goals, content strategies, and employer brand standards.
The planner will work closely with strategists, content creators, and stakeholders to manage content calendars, coordinate approvals, and support consistent, high-quality publishing across channels. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and experience managing social media workflows in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
Job Location
Onsite β Washington, DC (government facility, Metro accessible). All work is performed onsite in a secure federal environment. Limited telework may be authorized only as permitted by the client and contract requirements.
What You Will Do
Plan and manage social media content calendars across platforms (LinkedIn, X, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube)
Coordinate development, review, and approval of social media content with internal teams and client stakeholders
Schedule and publish content in alignment with campaign priorities, brand standards, and accessibility requirements (Section 508)
Support execution of social media campaigns, including organic and paid initiatives
Monitor social media channels for engagement, comments, and trends, and escalate issues as needed
Conduct social listening activities to identify audience insights, trends, and opportunities
Track content performance and contribute to reporting on key metrics such as reach, engagement, and growth
Ensure consistency in messaging, tone, and visual identity across all social platforms
Support real-time and event-based content execution, including rapid-turnaround posting needs
Maintain documentation, workflows, and collaboration tools to support efficient content production and publishing
What You Will Bring With You
Active Top Secret (TS) clearance required
Ability to work onsite full-time in Washington, DC
U.S. citizenship required
Bachelorβs degree in communications, marketing, public relations, or related field
5+ years of professional experience supporting social media planning, coordination, and execution for organizational or brand accounts
What We Would Like You to Bring With You
Experience supporting federal government or public-sector communications programs
Familiarity with recruitment marketing, employer branding, or talent acquisition campaigns
Experience using social media management tools (e.g., Sprout Social, Hootsuite, or similar platforms)
Experience managing content calendars, publishing workflows, and approval processes
Familiarity with social media analytics and performance reporting

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.
The pay range for this position based on full-time employment is:
$81,147.00 - $137,949.00
