Job Description Summary
The Marketing Specialist at Sonesta Hotels of New York is responsible for developing and executing NYC branded and property-level marketing strategies that elevate brand awareness, drive revenue, and enhance the guest experience across all hotel touchpoints - including rooms, F&B outlets, and spa. This role blends marketing, content creation, social media, partnerships, PR, on-property guest experience, and activations, with a strong focus on content and on-property touch points.
Reporting to the Director of Digital Marketing in New York City, the Marketing Specialist will support the hotel marketing and PR initiatives, ensuring alignment with brand standards and best practices.
Job Description
Social Media & Content Creation
Plan, create, and schedule social media content across Instagram and Facebook platforms for The Benjamin, The Shelburne, The Fifty, The Gardens and Sonesta of NY on Facebook
Collaborate closely with The Parliament social media agency in sharing menus, content and photography – approve monthly calendars
Assist with capturing onsite photo and video content highlighting guest rooms, dining experiences, cocktails, partners, spa treatments, and lifestyle moments
Respond to guest comments/messages
Experiential Property Activations
Lead on-property experiences (seasonal installations, wellness activations, dining and press/influencer events)
Work with stylists for on-property hotel pop-ups tied to local events – such as FIFA, US Open, Holidays
Public Relations, Media & Influencer Stays
Support PR efforts including updating and sharing all press materials
Coordinate and assist with hosted media stays, influencer visits, and content creators, ensuring a seamless experience with reservations, prearrival room décor/set up and gifting
Manage influencer and media agreements, including contracts, deliverables, timelines, and approvals
Partnerships
Identify, develop, and manage new and existing partnerships that align with each of the individual hotel brands (fashion, wellness, art, culture, local neighborhood)
Collaborate with partners on cross-promotional opportunities, including social media, email marketing, and on-property activations
Source local partners/vendors to secure rights to their digital assets to include on our email campaigns and social media calendars
Brand Audits & Property Walkthroughs
Conduct regular property walkthroughs to ensure brand standards are in place across all guest-facing touchpoints
Partner closely with operations teams to implement updates and improvements
Audit signage, collateral, menus, digital, and visual merchandising for consistency and quality – guestrooms, public spaces, outlets, fitness centers, and BOH
Work closely with brand team on communication of new brand standards and guidelines
Website Management
Maintain and update hotel vanity website content
Work with restaurant F&B team to update website menus, content, events & press sections
Update Sonesta.com website content through Sonesta’s At Your Service to ensure brand site has the latest hotel updates, imagery, details and packages
Weekly website audit content ensuring links work, content and imagery enhance the customer journey
Work on hotel listings to ensure content is updated on all channels including GMB, Trip Advisor, OTA, etc – leverage branded vendor SOCi
Promotions & Campaigns
Assist in developing seasonal offers, packages and promotions
Write marketing copy for email campaigns, landing pages, partner sites and blogs
Work closely with Marketing & Design Manager on creation of email marketing campaigns through Cendyn for The Benjamin and Sonesta Hotels of NY
Creative Content
Support with the development of copy/content for Sales materials including sales flyers, branded giveaways, presentations, etc.
Provide on-site support for architectural and lifestyle photo/video shoots
Commercial Engagement & Project Management
Participate in internal and external meetings and calls with sales, revenue, corporate field marketing, and external PR and Social Media agencies to help ensure alignment and follow-through on property initiatives.
Monitor competitor activity and market trends

Pay Range
Annual Compensation Range: $66,300 - $67,000
Base pay offered may vary depending on various factors including but not limited to job related knowledge, skills, and job specific/overall experience.
