Position Overview:Β 

The Foster Parent trainer is responsible for the onboarding and facilitation of all OCFS mandated training of new foster parents for the Westchester Foster Care Recruitment program. In addition, they will provide orientation and training to prospective foster and adoptive resource parents for special arrangement in emergency situations and respite care for male and female children and youth between the ages of 0-18 years old. Β This position will also be responsible for the instruction of all kinship/foster care trainings and able to conduct Foster Parent Orientation and other trainings as needed. The Foster Parent trainer will meet training milestones set forth by agency and Westchester Department of Social Services. Represents the agency at community functions and communicates CV values and expectations to prospective foster families. Will have the ability to conduct trainings in both English and Spanish.

Position Qualifications:

BA/BS with one year experience in child welfare preferred; AA or equivalent credits with two years experience in child welfare will also be considered. Training experience a must and some familiarity with recruitment preferred. MAPP, Mini-MAPP, GPS II/NTDC Deciding together and/or TRIPP certification preferred. Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, writing and computer skills. Must have a valid license and access to a working vehicle. Fluent in English and Spanish a must.
